Be Reactive

Make your response quick and to the point. Use both the couples names in the email if you have them. Don't start your email with "Congratulations on your engagement", start your email by introducing yourself, such as " Welcome to Magnolia and Me, it's great to hear from you", it will help you stand out from the crowd.

Be Cool

Keep the email short and sweet, I know you feel that you want to tell them as much as possible but trust me they won't read it. Give the bare minimum of information including the cost and what this includes, make sure that they understand your value.

Be Responsive

If your enquirer has asked a question make sure you answer them. They might ask about availability or packages or cost, the answer might be on your website or in your brochure but spell it out for them in your email if they ask.

Be Engaging

Don't be afraid to ask your couple a question. If they've not mentioned when they are thinking of getting married ask them, or if you're not a venue but a photographer or florist, these are the two most important questions you need to know, the where and when and the sooner you know the sooner you can quote accordingly. The idea is to get them to engage with you.

Be Active

Have a clear next step in your email, don't leave what happens next up to the couple. Suggest a meeting or a viewing, offer two dates and times so they have a choice or suggest you schedule a telephone call.

If they don't respond within a few days, pick up the telephone and call them, brides love to chat! That way you'll soon know if the enquiry is live or if you've been ghosted.

Be Prompt

If they do they reply to your email, answer promptly it really does make all the difference. It shows your potential couple that you care about them and their wedding, you're 90% of the way there to getting a sale.

Be Brave

Once you've had your appointment or viewing make sure you follow up quickly and don't be afraid to ask for the sale. Make it clear in your follow up email, how they go about booking and what deposit is required. Don't leave things to chance!
